Usage
✓ What does Pure Effect Textile Spray do?
Our Textile Spray removes odors and freshens up your clothes and belongings when you can't, don't want to, or don't have the energy to wash them.
You spare your clothes, the environment, and your wallet, and it's easy to take everywhere.
✓ How to use Pure Effect Textile Spray?
1. Spray
Spray directly onto the material from a distance of 30 cm. Spray and ensure that the entire odorous surface is covered.
2. Wait
Allow to act at room temperature for a few hours while the good bacteria combat the odor-producing ones. Tough odor? Repeat and remember to spray where the odor is located.
3. Use again
Done, the garment or item is ready to be used again ✓
✓ What materials can I use Pure Effect Textile Spray on?
Short answer: all materials that can withstand a little moisture.
Pure Effects Textile Spray is pH-neutral and developed to be gentle even on delicate materials. Since it does not contain alcohol or strong solvents, it is kind to both the fibers and to surface treatments that can easily become dull with traditional washing.
It therefore works perfectly on:
Silk and satin, wool and cashmere, linen and cotton, functional materials, sequins, tulle and other decorative details, fur, feathers and other natural materials (surface application), outerwear and blazers (where it is usually the lining that carries the smell, however.)
Even leather and suede, which can be stained by water?
Yes, even leather and suede can withstand a light, light rain or the moisture from sweat in, for example, a shoe. So a light mist of Textile Spray is also fine. But spray from a distance to avoid staining the surface.
✓ How much should I spray per garment or item?
Spray where it smells and make sure the surface is covered, for example in the armpit of a jacket or inside a shoe.
If the entire garment smells (e.g. musty or smoke), spray a light mist over the entire garment, preferably both outside and inside.
Repeat the next day if necessary.
✓ How long does a 500ml bottle last?
500 ml is enough for approximately 400 sprays.
The duration it lasts depends entirely on how and how often you use it.
If you use the spray in your daily clothing routine, one bottle will last approximately 1–2 months.
If you use it more sporadically – for example, for sports shoes or individual garments – it can last a very long time.
✓ How does Pure Effect Textile Spray work against bad odors, e.g., sweat odor?
Our biotechnological formula restores balance by introducing good bacteria that outcompete odor-producing bacteria.
There's no masking of the unpleasant odor; instead, the bacterial culture neutralizes the sources of odor at a deep level.
✓ Can I use Textile Spray instead of washing the garment?
In many cases, yes.
The spray is designed to remove odors and refresh textiles between washes. This allows you to use your clothes and items more times before they need washing, thereby extending their lifespan.
✓ There are other sprays and linen waters – why should I use Pure Effect Textile Spray?
Most textile sprays and linen waters do one thing: they smell good. They essentially consist of perfumed water that layers a scent on top of the problem. This means that the smell returns as soon as the perfume fades, because nothing has fundamentally changed.
Pure Effect works differently. Our Textile Spray is developed to remove the very source of odor – organic residues that accumulate in fibers and on surfaces when we use our clothes, shoes, and equipment. Instead of masking, our biotechnology breaks down what smells.
The result is cleaner textiles and surfaces, less wear and tear, and significantly fewer unnecessary washes.
By using Pure Effect continuously, you genuinely keep bad odors at bay and extend the lifespan of your belongings. It's the same logic as in nature: removing the cause instead of covering up the symptoms.
And in a society where we often overuse strong chemicals and strive for sterile environments, it's actually smarter – and gentler – to lean on beneficial microorganisms and natural processes. It's both more effective and more sustainable.
Stain removal
✓ Does Pure Effect Textile Spray also remove stains?
Yes, it often works on organic and biodegradable stains. It works best on fresh stains but can also remove older stains with repeated treatment.
Spray at close range and dab gently, do not rub. Leave on for a few hours and repeat if necessary.
Organic stains include sweat, food, wine, coffee, body oils, and similar. How well a stain is removed depends on its composition, how long it has been there, and the material involved. Therefore, results cannot be guaranteed.
It does not work on, for example, motor oil, nail polish, or synthetic dyes. Even some organic stains can be difficult, such as bright yellow curry on a white tablecloth or greasy chili oil with a lot of pigment.
Always worth a try!
✓ Which stains does Pure Effect Textile Spray remove?
Our Textile Spray works best on organic, biodegradable stains such as:
- Sweat
- Food residue
- Wine
- Coffee
- Tea
- Body oils
- Pet-related stains
How well a stain can be removed depends on what it consists of, how long it has been there, and the material. Therefore, results cannot be guaranteed, but it's always worth a try!
✓ How does it work in practice
The stronger the chemicals and the higher the temperature we use, the faster a stain can disappear. However, this often comes at the expense of the textile's fibers, color, and lifespan.
Textile Spray is based on a different logic. Instead of harsh mechanical processing and aggressive chemicals, it combines:
- Mild surfactants that help lift dirt from the fiber
- Live bacteria and enzymes that break down organic residues over time
This means that some stains can dissolve immediately, while others may require time and repeated treatment.
✓ Why not just use stronger measures?
It is true that stronger chemicals can often give faster results. But:
- Strong chemicals wear out fibres
- High temperatures shorten the lifespan of textiles
- Harsh mechanical processing breaks down the material
Textile Spray was developed with the goal of reducing unnecessary washing and extending the lifespan of textiles.
Allowing biotechnology and time to work instead of resorting to harsher chemicals is often better for both the textile and the environment.
Scent & Size
✓ This is my first time buying Pure Effect Textile Spray, which scent do you recommend?
Our Textile Spray comes in 4 different scents: Daybreak, Nordic Oak, White Clover, and Green Leaves.
For first-time users, we recommend our lightest, fresh scents:
- White Clover
- Green Leaves
Daybreak is one of our most popular scents but smells a bit richer compared to those mentioned above.
Nordic Oak is more woody and tends to build up more easily in textiles that are rarely or never washed, which is why we do not recommend it for, for example, sports equipment.
✓ How strong is the scent and how long does it last?
The scent is designed for textiles, not as a perfume.
It smells when you spray, but quickly fades so that it doesn't compete with your own perfume.
✓ Do you have a perfume-free option?
Yes. Contact us and we will gladly send you a sample.
It is not yet available in the webshop because it is not completely odorless; the formula has a faint bee scent from the ingredients, and we believe this makes it harder to accept.
✓ Which size of Pure Effect Textile Spray should I choose?
Our Textile Spray comes in two different bottle sizes, 500 ml and 75 ml, as well as a 1000 ml refill pouch.
The 500 ml is perfect for home use – for clothes, shoes, sports gear, furniture, carpets, and other larger textile surfaces.
The 75 ml is a smart travel spray that you can take with you on trips and in your bag when you're on the go.
The refill pouch allows you to refill your bottle instead of buying a new one.
Other Product Inquiries
✓ Are the bacteria in Pure Effect Textile Spray safe to use?
Yes. We use Bacillus Subtilis, a bacterium that is already naturally present in soil and water around us in everyday life.
It breaks down organic residues over time and keeps away other bacteria that can cause odors. The same type of bacteria is widely used in cleaning, odor control, and even in some probiotic supplements.
The microorganisms in our products belong to protection class 1, the lowest risk class for biological agents, and are considered harmless to humans, animals, and nature.
✓ How can bacteria fight other bacteria – and remove, for example, sweat odor and dirt?
It may sound unexpected, but bacteria constantly regulate each other in nature. Some species thrive together, others compete for space and food. It's a living system and the same process that happens on a t-shirt.
Sweat itself doesn't smell. It's when gram-negative bacteria on the skin or in the garment start breaking down sweat and skin residue that they release foul-smelling substances.
Instead, we use gram-positive Bacillus bacteria – a group that is safe, non-pathogenic, and well-known in biotechnology.
Here's how it works:
1. Competition for the surface
The Bacillus bacteria colonize the surface and occupy the space and resources that the foul-smelling, gram-negative bacteria would otherwise use. When gram-negative bacteria don't get space, they can't produce as much odor.
2. Enzyme production that breaks down what smells.
Bacillus Subtilis produces enzymes that break down organic residues – e.g., sweat residues, skin fats, and other "odor food." The difference is that they do it without producing the foul-smelling byproducts that gram-negative bacteria do.
3. Stable, long-lasting effect.
When the Bacillus bacteria remain on the fabric, they continue to work until the source of the odor is broken down. That's why the odor often doesn't return immediately. Then you use the garment and "dirty" it again.
Unfortunately, bacteria are not a perpetual motion machine, so the surface needs to be continuously sprayed with bacteria when in use.
Brief summary: - Gram-negative bacteria → often produce foul-smelling substances. - Our gram-positive Bacillus → outcompete them + break down dirt without releasing odors.
✓ Why should the garment or item be sprayed at room temperature?
The bacteria that break down odor grow best between approximately 5 and 30 °C. They also like moisture. Therefore, it is advantageous to spray when the garment or item is damp, for example, after you have sweated.
If it is very cold or too warm, the process slows down.
✓ How long does Pure Effect Textile Spray last?
Opened bottle lasts for about 2 years. Store at room temperature, not in direct sunlight.
✓ Where are your products manufactured?
Manufacturing takes place in Sweden.
